We led the transformation of Merewether, honouring its decades of sun, salt, surf and community spirit.
Example drew inspiration from Newcastle’s unique blend of steel city grit and surf culture to renew a beachside stalwart.
The revitalised venue now features Larrie’s, a classic beachside kiosk; the Beach Hotel Public Bar, a relaxed space with ocean views; and Peregrin, an elevated coastal dining experience on the second level.
We led full evolution, from venue concept and visual identity to a locals-first PR strategy. The transformation earned Best Regional Pub and Best Regional Redevelopment at the 2024 Australian Liquor Industry Awards.
